Passing a Half Year

Whew, things don't just move quickly, it seems like the accelerator is jammed, we progress faster and faster. You just need to cram as much as you can as it goes by because it seems to go by faster all the time.

Merrick has been making physical leaps and bounds the last two months. He learned that he could roll alot faster and more easily than he could crawl. So he started rolling everywhere.

Here he rolls to Bailey, although this time there is no slobbery chew to steal and put in his mouth. Bailey has learned to move before he looses any of his toys to Merrick.

Rolling also allows Merrick to quickly get into places that he wouldn't have been able to get into (under) if he were crawling.

Merrick can now go from all fours to sitting. And of course, there is that nose of Bailey's that gets into everything.

Crawling is the big thing. For a month, he was just able to get up on all fours. Then he started scootching. He has gone from barely being able to scootch to across the room gallops in about 4 days. It didn't take long. The funny thing is when he is in the living room or dining room on the hard wood floor. He tries to crawl and goes backwards from slipping. So he uses his toes since they grip.

Crawling wasn't enough, he decided he wanted to stand like a big boy.

All of this exercise is creating QUITE an appetite. Merrick is now eating various cereals, fruits, and vegetables. I am not sure which category Mommy Noses fits into.

One of our outings was to the Renaissance Festival. What a blast, a whole town created in the forest. It lasts about two months and has many performers, arts, and crafts. Patty and Merrick near the entrance. Me, giving Merrick a big smoked Turkey Leg (yeah yeah, it was Patty's). And a couple that helps produce the event. They had such outstanding costumes.

For our anniversary, our friends Sherri and Gene gave us their townhouse at the Wisp ski resort in Deep Creek for the weekend. It was just wonderful. A beautiful fall weekend, just like a post card and no snow (Thank Gawd).

Here is Patty suiting Merrick up for the chill at the bottom of the ski slope. I have Bailey and Merrick getting ready for a hike to and along Deep Creek lake. Me and Merrick at the lake.

The day after Halloween, we went to the Hanson's for Caroline's one year birthday party. All the kids dressed up in costumes since it was just the day after. Here is Merrick on the porch in his little Punkin outfit among some pumpkins Patty grew in the garden. And here is Merrick with Cathy Hanson.

Well, that is it for now. I know it wasn't enough, but now it is time to start going through hours of video for the next MerrickVision production(s). Stay tuned for more Merrick.
