The Baby Room

Here you can see pictures of the baby room progress (click on thumbnails for larger pics).

We all know that babies can't really appreciate a good baby room, leaving it up to the parents and visitors to admire.

This is the room from when the previous owners occupied the house (taken at the same time as the new house pictures on the new house page).

After going to the local Lowes and Home Depot for copious $$$ in materials, we start on the new look. The bottom half was painted a nice tan, then Patty started on the wall paper.

Once the painting and wall paper are done, it is time for the border across the middle. This is 12" border with a pirate theme.

Thin rail above and below the border was cut and painted white. Since there was DOUBLE the amount of trim normally associated with a job like this, the need for new power tools was evident. Hehe, meet my new miter saw.

So the trim went up with no problem (thanks to power tools).

The room is now complete except for the finishing touches.

We got the little holes and seams filled with the wood putty, sanded then painted them. Put the outlet covers back on and then put the main furniture together. Here is what the room looks like now.

It still needs a valence, and such. Stay tuned.....
